Look beyond the superficial

In case anyone is wondering about the layout... here is a blurb on it:

This layout was somewhat of a spur of the moment thing. I had been dry on inspiration for quite sometime before this layout was made. And on the day this layout was made, I found inspiration from one of the most unexpected places: the stationery store. I was randomly shopping for cute letter sets when I came across this very simple one with a black column on the left hand side and lines for writing on the right. What piqued my interest was the decoration on the left column. It was very simple, yet impactful.

I tried to recreate that with this layout. At first I wanted to handmake the smoke/shadow thing... but my vectors turned out nausea-inducing, so to speak. So I ended up cutting out some of that smokey cloud things from xxxHOLiC covers. Gotta trust CLAMP to get you out of a pinch ^_~ I added a flower brush by gender (the pink flower used for the headings are also by gender) and the rest were hand made vectors and text boxes.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, fonts used were Blue Highway Condensed and Gill Sans. Simplicity is key, as I always say :)
